The investigation unit of the Ministry of Health will be conducting a formal inquiry based on the findings at the preliminary investigation done against the Jaffna Teaching Hospital Director and two other individuals. Meanwhile the GMOA Jaffna Branch Union president had a threatening call yesterday from an unknown person, against which a police complaint also was made immediately with the relevant telephone number.
In this situation, how to assure the impartiality and the transparency of the formal inquiry?
Hence the entire Northern Province will go on a trade union action on next Tuesday (24th July 2012) urging the ministry to take steps to assure the impartiality of this investigating procedure.
