The house of Dr. Nadarajah Jeyakumaran (Consultant Oncologist) at Teaching Hospital – Jaffna was attacked by an unidentified gang at 1.00am on 14/06/2012.
Earlier the GMOA Branch Union of TH-Jaffna had made a police complaint against the corruption and stealing of government property by the administration of the hospital and the Branch Union is of the opinion that the people who are responsible for the corruption are behind this attack.
A one day token strike was carried out in TH-Jaffna, RDHS Jaffna and BH-Pont Pedro from 8.00am to 4.00pm on 14/06/2012. The Branch Union of GH-Vavuniya also joined for this TUA to mark their protest against this cowardly attack.
The demands of the TUA are:
- To have an impartial inquiry into the attack and about the corruption of hospital administration.
- To take the people responsible for the attack into custody and produce before the court.
